From Amber:
First off I want to encourage you, whether you are old or young, big or small, God can
work through you in huge ways and little ways. Sometimes, we can’t always see what God does
after that. We all just have to be willing to put one foot forward, go, and be fools for Jesus. While
in Mexico, I learned that God uses each of us in different ways to reach different people. At the
schools, we were not able to share the gospel, but we were able to emit the love of God and teach
that we can make good choices. Whereas in the Colonias we were able to freely preach the
gospel message and pray for healings. I also experienced close to, if not complete, exhaustion.
Luckily God is way bigger than my brain/flesh and gave me the energy I needed every day to do
the different dramas and dances. I was so encouraged by the people at VCH. They worked so
hard and got, most times, less sleep then I did. I also was encouraged by the fact that they were
speaking English. It encouraged me to try even harder to learn Spanish. What I got out of this
trip most was learning to lean on the Holy Spirit and trusting God with everything. While we
would pray for healings I would just let God work through me. I really did nothing. It was all
God. The bible does say: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” -Philippians
4:13. That was the verse that encouraged me to go be a fool for Jesus. It didn’t matter what
people thought of me as long as they could see Jesus. If I could show Jesus to the people and
pray for God to heal them, then I could give God every ounce of energy I had. Because of this I
am encouraged to continue showing and having the same mind and heart here in Colorado and
anywhere else God takes me.
