Mission Trips- In 2012 we took 12 people to El Salvador. In 2013 we had 10 go to Nuevo Laredo Mexico. In 2014 we had 16 go to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and in 2015 we are going back with another great team that God is building!
Giving Tree- Gift Drive for neighborhood kids! The church brings in gifts, and we get the priveledge of delivering the gifts to the kids!
Trunk or Treat- We decorate our cars and invite neighborhood kids to come join us for fellowship and goodies!
Hygiene Packs- Basic necessities all in one place!
Deliver welcome baskets to people that are new to the neighborhood!
Nursing Home Ministry- Fellowshipping with the wiser generation through friendship and music!
Help out at the Brandon Center- The Brandon Center is a facility that has 117 beds for women and their children fleeing from domestic violence or experiencing homelessness. There is a similar home we have helped out at called the Irving St House just for women too! Opportunities to serve these wonderful people include:
Adopt-a-Room- Make a room feel like home in the house!
Birthday Boxes- Prepare present boxes to be available when a child has a birthday during their stay!
We are constantly looking for new ways to reach out to the community and share the love of Christ! Be on the lookout for upcoming events in the bulletin and in the blog posts!Prepare a meal for these wonderful people!
Outreach events are wonderful ways to reach the community, but it is also important to enable and encourage the church to be looking for outreach and evangelistic opportunities on an everyday basis, as well as volunteering regularly to support the various organizations in our own community. I tell all my volunteers at events- take this opportunity to tell people in your workplace what you REALLY did this weekend!
