At Faith Bible Chapel- we exist to share the love of God and be the light of the world. >>OUR PURPOSE

Mission Life Day 1

Man oh man did we have a great trip! We really only had 4 days of ministry, and in that time, ministered to 3195 people. 814 people made a confession of their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. We saw 90 people healed. These are only estimates, but we as a group know that God's Spirit was at work in front of us. I can't wait until the day when we get to heaven and the true magnitude of what was accomplished this one week is realized.

Mexico on the left - America on the right

What is next?
Where do you go from a trip like this? There is work to do at home. There was a fire ignited for some, gasoline added to the spiritual fire of others, and a calling on some peoples lives that could change everything. How do we keep this flame alive? I love what one of the founders wife said- if we tell someone about Jesus everyday, then this flame will never go out. We need to tell someone everyday for the next month what we saw happen in Mexico. We need to let them know the important role we have here too if they are Christians, or even proclaim the Gospel when the spirit leads us to do so. Don't be afraid to plant a seed, water another, or harvest another soul for the Kingdom!

Staying in Mexico would have been great,  but we know we have work to do here, and in my opinion it is harder to evangelize in America than Mexico. A lot of this is because of our own fear of man, and because we have to see the people we are attempting to reach a lot more frequently! In Mexico, odds are, you won't see 98% of the 3200 plus people you came in contact with. Here, these are family and friends! Coworkers! Neighbors! Instead of letting this scare us, let this make us even more bold, as God cares about these people a lot more than we do! Let's get in the business of living to win souls to Jesus! For many of us, this doesn't mean becoming a full time missionary in another country, but being a full time missionary wherever you are at! Welcome to the first day of the rest of your Missionary Life!

But what about when life starts coming at you full blast? I know for a fact that a good chunk of our team is already battling against life since getting back yesterday. Family problems. Work problems. Church problems. Distraction after distraction, after a week with almost no distractions. Coincidence? No way. We have the devil scared. He wants nothing more to dim the fire or put it out together, and he knows the best way to do that is to attack us from all sides. What are we going to do? Press on with the strength of Jesus! His grace is sufficient! 1 Corinthians 12:9-10 says "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more in my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

We were pretty weak in Mexico! There is no doubt about that. Definitely out of our comfort zone, and it got us all to rely on God more than we ever had! Let's not forget that dependence we need to have here! When life starts crashing down around you, let's look out and see Jesus calmly walking on the water while the sea is raging. One of the verses from a song we sung when we were in Mexico applies just as much now as it did when we were down there, relying on Him.

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders,
Let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wonder,
And my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior.

Lord- let us move forward with your continued strength and the guidance of Your Spirit wherever you send us in the mission field that is the world You made, and the world You love!
