On March 24, 2013 we visited the Brandon House complex to serve a meal, distribute clothing and do crafts with the residents! The complex consist of the Brandon House, a place for women and children escaping homelessness and domestic violence, Theodora House, a place just for women, and the Family Motel, a place serving families needing a temporary place to stay. These places are nice, but still a far cry from a home. Our goal was to just share the love of Christ with these ladies and children! We passed out tracts and prayed with any who would let us!
Along with about 40 volunteers from the Carr St Campus- we served about 100 people with plenty of food leftover! Audrey and I were so blessed at our turnout of volunteers! We couldn't even find enough jobs for everyone at the beginning of the event! As soon as the families started to arrive, our group began talking with them, helping them serve their children, do crafts- we even had someone doing portraits of the kids!
