35 Days... Put on the shoes of peace.

Do you have your shoes of peace and the gospel?

Isaiah 52:7 says “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’” Our goal in traveling to Mexico is to bring nothing but the gospel and the peace that can only be found in Jesus to the people! The devil better hear our footsteps and flee though!


I have never thought much of the shoes as a weapon, both offensive and defensive, but I was reading a book that opened my eyes to why the shoes could be a weapon! It talked about the shoes of peace being a weapon that creates peace by keeping the devil where he belongs- underneath your feet! One good, swift kick and the enemy and his strategies will be crushed!

The shoes of peace weren't merely just leather straps keeping the sandals in place, but had sharpened spikes on the bottom that helped a soldier hold his footing. Think of it like a hardcore pair of cleats. When theses spikes, sometimes 3 inches long, were planted into the earth, that soldier was very difficult to move. Now expand this idea to a group of soldiers and you truly have something that does not move when it does not want to, but can press forward, even in the face of opposition.

We need to have this mentality in our lives! Plant your feet and say, "I am not moving until the work of God in this area of my life is finished!" To say it simply, the peace of God gives your firm footing! The devil may attack, but you will not be moved or shaken, because you have a peace that will hold you in place.

Jesus completely destroyed Satan's power over your through His death and resurrection. Now your God-given mission is to reinforce the victory Jesus already won and to demonstrate just how miserably defeated Satan already is! Don't give the devil any ground to stand in your life- only allow him the small space of ground that is right under your feet! Jesus accomplished a total, complete, and perfect work on the Cross and in His resurrection, so let us rest in the peace of knowing the battle is already won!
