From Kris:
It is difficult to sum up all that God did during our time in Mexico. As with every mission trip, I
return to the states amazed at our great God and humbled to be part of His family and used for
His purpose. First, it is so encouraging to see young people on fire for the Lord being salt and
light in a border town that has been racked with poverty, addiction, drug traffickers, and despair.
The staff and students at IHI bless me and give me hope that we can change the world with the
message of Christ crucified, buried and resurrected. God is on the move and I want be part of it,
no matter where I am.

Jenn
From Jenn:
The past several years Carr St has gone to Nuevo Laredo and I have not felt the calling to go. Well this year was different. I felt like I should be going on a missions trip and right until we started I was struggling with the fact if I should go or not. I wanted to make sure that I was going because I was supposed to go and not just because I wanted to go on a missions trip.
Well I decided to go and I’m so glad I did. This trip was an awesome experience in different ways. I felt a presence of love and family at the Bible institute with all of the staff and the Mexicans who would go to our ministry sites with us. They were such a joy to be around and I could tell they loved Jesus and others. As a follower of Christ and one who loves missions I really enjoyed being able to share with the kids from the schools and the people in the colonias the love of Jesus through dance, dramas, and prayer. My heart’s desire is to see people come to know the Lord and feel his love, and through this trip I felt that the people we came in contact with did. It was such a blessing to see many souls saved and to hear about people who were healed.

Amber P.
From Amber:
First off I want to encourage you, whether you are old or young, big or small, God can work through you in huge ways and little ways. Sometimes, we can’t always see what God does after that. We all just have to be willing to put one foot forward, go, and be fools for Jesus. While in Mexico, I learned that God uses each of us in different ways to reach different people. At the schools, we were not able to share the gospel, but we were able to emit the love of God and teach that we can make good choices. Whereas in the Colonias we were able to freely preach the gospel message and pray for healings. I also experienced close to, if not complete, exhaustion.

Joyce
From Joyce:
When we were at the church on Saturday, a few of us went in to pray for the women in the Bible
study. I prayed for a woman with diabetes.
That night, at our first colonia, I prayed for another woman with diabetes. Then I prayed for a woman whose pregnant daughter had diabetes. Are we detecting a theme?
