Mission

At Faith Bible Chapel- we exist to share the love of God and be the light of the world. >>OUR PURPOSE

Update 9.1.2012

We had a great meeting on Sunday! Moving forward- we would like to have as many events as possible. In order to keep us from getting overloaded, we will be alternating between events that take a lot of planning- and events that are much easier to execute. In addition to events- we will also be trying to get a list of volunteer opportunities available to post on carrstmission.com and also have several things that we are always trying to do. Events and ongoing items in the next few months include:
Ongoing:
Hygiene Packs: The hygiene packs we distributed for Mission Sunday are continually available at the church.
Welcome Baskets: To try and make people feel more welcome to the neighborhood- we are going to be creating and distributing welcome baskets with info materials on programs in the church to recent home sales and apartment rentals in the neighborhoods around us. Barb Villani will be heading this up.
September:
Meal Service: We would love to get out and do an outreach serving a meal to a group of people in need. We are trying to get the location locked down and more info on this will be coming very soon!
To lock down the location- we need a headcount of potential volunteers to just show up, and help out! See the poll below and vote for which date would work better for you!
October:
Trunk-or-Treat: We are going to be decorating cars, dressing up, and passing out candy to kids in the neighborhood. We have done this in the past with a decent turnout- this year we are going to try to advertise in the community newspapers to increase our exposure and hopefully get even more people this year. Jessica Montoya will be heading this up.
November and December:
Nursing Home Visit: We are going to get something set up in November to just get out and fellowship with a great group of people.
Giving Tree: We will start ramping up for Giving Tree in November- organizing names and information for presents for the kids. We hope to have the ornaments and tree set up by November 25 so people will have the opportunity to do some after Thanks giving shopping!
Let me know if you have any questions!
